SSS is accepting applications for the 2010-2011 year;
families seeking assistance should submit
Parent Financial Statements now; most grants will be awarded in February.

Financial Assistance

Canterbury School of Florida believes that enrollment should be open to all qualified applicants, not limited to only those who can pay full tuition.  We encourage any family needing assistance to apply for financial aid.

Financial aid is awarded for one year.  Awards are based upon demonstrated financial need and Canterbury's available funds.  The School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) is used to determine need.  Confidential applications may be obtained from the Assistant to the Head of School (727) 525-1419. Families may also apply online through the National Association of Independent Schools.

Parents of current students should contact Canterbury's Admissions Office to apply for financial assistance and follow steps 4 and 5 below.  New families should follow these steps:

1. Contact the Admissions Office for an admissions packet and to schedule a campus tour.

2. Submit the student application and request a School and Student Service (SSS) Financial Aid packet.

3. Schedule dates and times for student assessment and classroom visitation with the Admissions Office.

4. Complete the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) and submit with payment directly to SSS beginning November 15

5. Send copies of the most recent Federal Income Tax Form 1040 to Canterbury's Financial Aid Committee by February 5.

(If parents are separated or divorced, each parent must submit a tax form and PFS form.)

Families are encouraged to complete this process as quickly as possible.  Priority is given to families whose children are currently attending Canterbury. Funds are limited and distributed while available for the following academic year.
