Major Gifts

Capital campaigns and major gifts provide funding for expansion or renovation of facilities and programs. The library, field house, and fine arts center exist through the generosity of former families and friends. Current families have made leadership gifts to establish technology and marine studies programs. In each of these cases, individuals or families share a vision to transform the school while fulfilling our mission.

Campaign for Canterbury built a state-of-the-art fine arts facility, the Dollinger Center for the Arts, as well as enabling renovations to middle and lower school classrooms. Our Vision of Excellence campaign helped underwrite the addition of an eight-acre athletic complex and lower school science and computer labs now being enjoyed by students. None of these projects could have been funded through the daily operating budget.

These tax-deductible gifts are usually paid in multi-year pledges. Naming opportunities are also possible with major gifts. To learn more, contact the Advancement Office.

NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARS & NATIONAL HISPANIC RECOGNITION PROGRAM SCHOLAR
Congratulations to our 2010 National Merit Scholar and our two National Merit Commended Scholars.

AP SCHOLARS
We are so proud of all our AP Scholars! AP Scholar designation is granted to students who receive grades of 3 (5 is the highest score) or higher on three or more AP Exams. This year we had three AP Scholars in the Class of 2009, four AP Scholars in the Class of 2010, and three AP Scholars in the Class of 2011.

AP SCHOLARS WITH HONOR
The AP Scholar with Honor distinction is granted to students who receive an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. This year we had one AP Scholar with Honor in the Class of 2009 and two AP Scholars with Honor in the Class of 2010.

AP SCHOLARS WITH DISTINCTION
The AP Scholar with Distinction designation is granted to students who receive an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. This year we congratulate two AP Scholars with Distinction in the Class of 2009 and three AP Scholars with Distinction in the Class of 2010.
