COLLEGE COUNSELING COURSE
This year, Canterbury began offering a College Counseling Course for juniors as part of the CAP program to give students a solid understanding of all aspects of the college admissions process. Each week, I meet with a different advisory group. Topics already covered include learning style assessments and interest inventories, college searches, and traditional colleges vs. non-traditional post-secondary opportunities. Still to be discussed are admission requirements, standardized tests, perils of Facebook and other social media, interviews, college life, Greek system, college application process, scholarships and financial aid. The intention of this course is to give students a solid understanding of all aspects of the college admissions process.

WEBSITE HIGHLIGHT OF THE MONTH
http://www.zinch.com/
Zinch.com or “I am more than just a test score” is a website dedicated to matching students with scholarships according to student-generated profiles. The website is highly interactive and informative for students and parents. Additionally, the website serves as a college search service and posts informative articles on the college admissions process for all high school students.
