Parents

Great schools are made up of partnerships among parents, students and teachers. For that reason, Canterbury encourages and welcomes parents as active members of the school community.

Parents may be seen on campus every day and have standing invitations to morning assemblies, weekly Chapel, and other grade-specific events. Parent socials for all grades foster friendships that continue long after children are grown.

Volunteer possibilities at Canterbury range from grade-level activities, such as being a room parent or a field trip chaperone, to serving on an assortment of committees for the Parents Association, Booster Club and Board of Trustees. Parents may found helping in the libraries, serving hot lunches for younger students, taking tickets for athletic events, or sewing costumes for drama productions.

NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARS & NATIONAL HISPANIC RECOGNITION PROGRAM SCHOLAR
Congratulations to our 2010 National Merit Scholar and our two National Merit Commended Scholars.

AP SCHOLARS
We are so proud of all our AP Scholars! AP Scholar designation is granted to students who receive grades of 3 (5 is the highest score) or higher on three or more AP Exams. This year we had three AP Scholars in the Class of 2009, four AP Scholars in the Class of 2010, and three AP Scholars in the Class of 2011.

AP SCHOLARS WITH HONOR
The AP Scholar with Honor distinction is granted to students who receive an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. This year we had one AP Scholar with Honor in the Class of 2009 and two AP Scholars with Honor in the Class of 2010.

AP SCHOLARS WITH DISTINCTION
The AP Scholar with Distinction designation is granted to students who receive an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. This year we congratulate two AP Scholars with Distinction in the Class of 2009 and three AP Scholars with Distinction in the Class of 2010.
