Chapel
Since its founding, Canterbury School has maintained a commitment to developing the spiritual life of each student. Affiliated with the Episcopal Church, we enthusiastically embrace a variety of religious faith traditions among students, faculty and staff as we seek to be an open, welcoming, and caring spiritual community.
All students and faculty attend Chapel services once each week. Parents and friends are welcome at any service. We especially value chapel time as an opportunity for our school community to reflect on what it means to be children of God, to be good people, to act in service to others, and to live out our individual faith traditions. Students are never asked to subscribe to a particular doctrine or set of beliefs.
Chapel on both campuses is an optimistic and joyous time for students, parents, faculty and staff. We come together to support one another, to strengthen our community, and to learn about and reflect on how we can become the people God calls us to be. We pray for our own needs and those of others, count our many blessings, grieve and mourn losses, and celebrate successes, birthdays, and important events in the lives of individuals, our school, and the world.
