How to Apply

The process of finding the right match between our school and prospective students includes the following steps:

  •  Visit with Admissions Office staff to discuss the program and tour campus.
  • Submit a completed application form and non-refundable $75 application fee.
  •  Provide copies of student records (report cards, transcripts, teacher recommendations, standardized test scores and any developmental testing reports).
  •  Canterbury accepts PSAT, SAT, ERB, Stanford Achievement or State Competency Tests such as FCAT. Students may also submit Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT).
  • International applicants must submit TOEFL or SLEP scores.
  • Non-immigrant students must have student visas issued by their embassies and submit SEVIS I-20 forms.
  •  Schedule an admission assessment and shadow date.
o Prekindergarten applicants visit ½ day and must be 4 years old as of September 1 of the school year.
o Kindergarten applicants visit a full day and must be five years old as of September 1 of the school year. Assessments evaluate developmental levels.
o Grades 1-12 visit a full day. Assessments evaluate aptitude and achievement measures in tandem with current school records.

Applications are reviewed in a rolling admissions process, which means qualified applicants may be admitted throughout the year as long as space is available.  An Admissions Committee evaluates each applicant on the basis of overall academic potential; developmental readiness; social, emotional and physical maturity; and ability to contribute positively to the school.  Reenrollment for current students takes place in February of each year, and notification of acceptance for new students is made as space is available.
